Problems of Speaking

A business leader today who can’t make a good presentation (to boss, colleagues or the team) won’t get very far in tomorrow’s organizations. let us first consider some of the problems that occur when people are asked to “give a talk”.

The responses will vary from person to person and are likely to include some of the following :

• “I’m not sure that there is enough time to make decent job of it”
• “Not my scene” I’m no lecturer”
• “Go and see so and so, he’s better”
• “It’s not my job”
• “Not me,..” “I’ll think on it and let you know”
• “OK, I’m no great speaker, but I’ll give it a go”
